It's a boy!

Grandma and Grandpa Sanguinet came with us to our ultrasound last Friday afternoon and we found out we are having a boy. He is all boy! I wanted to post the picture showing his manhood as proof, but nobody would let me do that to him (I guess for the same reasons that I took the pictures of when I was little and naked from my parent's house...very embarrassing, I know). I am just a proud daddy wanting to show off my boy!

I can't wait to teach him to love God, to have respect...especially for women and his mom...and how to play sports (hopefully God blesses him with those genes!). I am so excited to see him in the end of September/early October.

Amy is feeling better and is getting used to the morning sickness...yes she is still getting sick almost every morning. She is starting to feel him move more often and let's me know when she feels him (I am so jealous and can't wait until I get to feel him kick).

As far as names go, we are still thinking about naming him Hunter Thomas, but have thought about a few different names. Anyone have any suggestions (my mom doesn't really like Hunter!).

Heartbeat

I know it's been a while since the last posting (Steph reminded me of this)! Not too much new news to share. Within the last couple weeks, Amy has had some great days of not getting sick...Whoohooo! and some not too good days...Booooo! She finds that when she takes the Pre-Natal vitamins, she doesn't feel as good. Are those things really necessary? What did they do before Pre-Natal vitamins? I guess if she doesn't take them I need to make sure she is getting enough calories and a good balance of food. As of Monday (4/13/09) we are 16 weeks along and only a couple more weeks until we find out the sex of the baby!

Amy is starting to get a little baby bump, but it is only visable when she is wearing tighter fitting shirts and she has started to wear maternity pants because a lot of her jeans were getting too tight for comfort. We listened to the heart beat on Easter using the little ultrasound device and it also calculates how many beats per minute the heart is going at. It was at about 150 beats per minute...some say that based on that number we would be having a boy. We'll find out soon! We have our next appointment this friday, 4/17/09

I haven't started talking too much to the baby yet, but I think I should so s/he will know my voice when they are born. I can't wait!

Update 3/12/09

I know it has been a while since we last posted, so here is a little update. Tomorrow (3/13/09)we have our next OB GYN appointment (I am sure we'll have more info to share after that). Amy still hasn't been feeling her best but it's only about 1 or 2 days a week that she doesn't feel well all day. It is definitely true morning sickness though. She also is in that stage were she is feeling her body changing, although no bad mood swings. She feels fat at times even though she is barely showing and still very petite. Just wait babe!

Amy has had several dreams lately of us having a boy (is God trying to tell us something?). Anybody want to take wagers on what the sex is? We will be excited either way as having a baby and being able to be parents is a blessing in itself and a true gift from God. We are so excited for that time, but for now it is a time of perseverence!

Morning Sickness

Well Morning Sickness has come and turn into Afternoon and Night Sickness as well. Amy fought the flu last week and continues to fight through the on and offs of not feeling well. These little struggles will only bring a world of JOY later. Due to the flu and feelings of sickness, Amy is tired of eating saltines, soup, waffles, and toast (all foods she enjoys...just not when thats all you can eat and take down). Having gone through a whole list of foods that she should be eating, not too much sounds appealing. She has continued to take down fluids, making sure that she doesn't become dehydrated.

Today, 2/11/09, Amy has her first Ultrasound to check to see how the little one is doing and she had bloodwork done on Monday. With Amy having a couple days with a high temperature last week, the doctors wanted to make sure that development was going well. We have been praying for God's will through this time!

We'll keep you posted!

Let us know if you have any suggestions on what may help Amy to feel better by commenting to this Blog. We have tried what is called "Pregie Pops" but she said they are just too sweet!
