He is now 26.5 inches long (93rd percentile for his age) and 15 lbs 5 oz! Yes we have a long string bean and we have no clue where his length is coming from! TJ is now in his 3-6 month clothing and all his 3 month stuff he is getting too short for him. He can fit into some 6 month clothing it is just a little big in the waist and the width.

TJ showed off for the doctor and rolled over from his stomach to his back (he really hadn't rolled over that much in the past couple months) and has been talking a lot -we just wish we could understand what he is saying because he has had a lot to say! He is a very smiley baby and has started to giggle too.

We had our "First" visit to the beach (Mukilteo) and it was a lot of fun just to people watch. We all bundled up because it was really cold outside and didn't end up staying too long.

He has found his hands and loves sticking them in his mouth! Actually he pretty much sticks everything in his mouth :D! It is a new way for him to learn about and explore his new world.

Generally at nighttime when we put him down for bed he will sleep from 830p to about 5a or 6a and will take a couple of naps throughout the day. We are so thankful for this as we know it is a gift.

TJ went to his first soccer game to watch Daddy play and got all suited up with Dad! He looks so cute in his little Adidas jersey and kicks!

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5430094112704236018" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; At about 7 weeks, TJ started to smile when smiled at. We have definitely realized that TJ is a morning baby. As soon as he gets up in the morning, he is all smiles and very talkative.

He has been sleeping really well at night time, waking up around every 3 hours. We have been wrapping him up really tightly in his swaddle and that has been making a ton of difference. The first night we did that he slept 6.5 hours straight (mamma especially needed the rest that night)! He has also had a couple spans of 5 hours since then.

We have been starting to get accustomed to TJ's habits and routines...and developing patterns that we would like him to get used to as well. TJ routinely goes to bed right now at about 10:30pm...we have been slowly moving this earlier as he wasn't going to bed until 11pm. Mamma and Dadda need to get this time earlier!

My buddy now weighs 10 lbs!

TJ had his 1 month check-up on Tuesday and he is now 22.5 inches long and 10 lbs. We were in the parking lot of Qwest Field and Amy had to go to the restroom. She used the restroom and walked out about 50 feet and said "I think my pants are wet". She decided to go back into the restroom and her water had in fact broken. Needless to say, we didn't get to watch the Mariners play that night and headed straight for the hospital. That point in downtown Seattle is probably the furthest from the hospital we would have ever been that close to her due date.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://newbabysanguinet.blogspot.com/2009/09/tj-is-here-september-16th-2009.html' title='TJ is HERE!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! My heart is filled with graciousness to those that attended (by showing Amy so much love and support) and to those that have given us things for TJ! We love you all and thank you! (Thanks especially to Mom and Steph for throwing the baby shower!)

TJ's due date is less than 4 weeks away and he has less and less room to move around (I don't think he likes that too much)!! Ultimately, he could be coming to join us anytime within the next 6 weeks and I am so excited to meet him. I have definitely seen God changing my heart within the past few weeks...giving me more patience and discernment when it comes to discipline.

A lot of people have asked me if I am nervous. The only thing I am nervous for is when Amy is in labor. I love my wife dearly and don't know how she'll handle that whole process. I am reminded to "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known to God" Phil 4:6. God will give her the strength and energy she needs for that time. She has already started to feel more tired and her body is definitely telling her to take it easy and conserve her energy for that time.

6 MORE WEEKS!

6 more weeks to go...it's taking way too long!

Last weekend, I painted TJ's room. We decided to paint the bottom half of the room almost like a chocolate color and the top half is a baby blue. This weekend, Mr. Guy is coming over to help me put up a white chair rail around the room and then we'll be ready to get stuff moved in there (I promise I will put up some pictures of the finished product). I still have some touch up work to do on the changing table and the white trim at the base of the wall but it seems to be coming together pretty well.

TJ has still been very active in Amy's belly and I love to see him move around. The other day I started to talk to him and he moved around a ton...made me pretty happy to know that he might recognize my voice.

Amy has been feeling well. At times she has been feeling pretty tired. She has continued to have heartburn at nighttime and is trying some different things to help that go away.

Amy had her first baby shower 2 weekends ago in Spokane. Aunt Sally and cousins, Terina and Kristin, threw the baby shower for her (I went golfing with the guys). We were blessed immensely by the family that came and provided us with some pretty awesome gifts. God has definitely shown His love through the people in our lives!

First Prego Class

We had our first pregnancy class last Tuesday (7/14/09) and we learned about bathing. Amy and I both had it on our hearts that God has stratigically put us in this class at the Pregnancy Resource Center for a reason (and very excited to see what He does!).

I am getting really excited for TJ's arrival and I hope that the next 2 months just flies by. Such an amazing thing to see him move around!

Triage Visit Last night - 7/12/09

Last night, we had to visit Triage at Providence hospital. KINDA SCARY! Amy had not been feeling well all day yesterday. She wasn't able to hold anything down, including fluids. Her Braxton Hicks started to occur more frequently...she said they were happening every 4 - 10 minutes. She called the On-Call OB GYN and they told her to get to the hospital.

When she called me, I had just gotten on the freeway in Bellingham, on my way home from Josten's Wedding...all the way home I was thinking if I would see TJ soon.

Ends up that Amy was pretty dehydrated and they needed to get her some fluids. 6 pokes later, Amy was finally able to get hooked up to the IV. TJ was doing well and was moving a ton as soon as the Braxton Hicks stopped occurring so frequently (I think he was trying to tell mom that she needed to drink more water!).

THOMAS JOHN SANGUINET

We have chosen his name! Just as soon as Amy lays down for bed, he starts kicking like crazy. I hope he doesn't get in the habit of being up at that time. I guess the good thing is that we know we have a soccer player on our hands. He'll be the best soccer player ever (well...at least to his mom and dad).

Amy has another check up appointment next week at the OB GYN. Everything has been going really well. For those that don't get to see Amy consistently, I'll have to post a picture so that you can see the belly. The doctor was right when he said that innie's turn to outie's.

We haven't decided for sure on a name yet. We actually opened up another name choice...they all revolve around Hunter, Thomas, and John. John Hunter (I am a third generation John...all with different middle names, so I am not John Sanguinet III). My grandpa, John William, goes by Jack. My dad, John Bryan, goes by his middle name Bryan. We were thinking that if we name him John Hunter, he could go by his middle name Hunter. Another one is Hunter Thomas (a name that Amy and I liked since we started thinking about names), or Thomas John. There are too many things to account for! Especially the fact that if we don't name him John, we can't name any future boys John because we wouldn't want him to be the first boy and not get the inheritance of the name. Kind of silly, I know! Let us know what you think!

It's a boy!

Grandma and Grandpa Sanguinet came with us to our ultrasound last Friday afternoon and we found out we are having a boy. He is all boy! I wanted to post the picture showing his manhood as proof, but nobody would let me do that to him (I guess for the same reasons that I took the pictures of when I was little and naked from my parent's house...very embarrassing, I know). I am just a proud daddy wanting to show off my boy!

I can't wait to teach him to love God, to have respect...especially for women and his mom...and how to play sports (hopefully God blesses him with those genes!). I am so excited to see him in the end of September/early October.

Amy is feeling better and is getting used to the morning sickness...yes she is still getting sick almost every morning. She is starting to feel him move more often and let's me know when she feels him (I am so jealous and can't wait until I get to feel him kick).

As far as names go, we are still thinking about naming him Hunter Thomas, but have thought about a few different names. Anyone have any suggestions (my mom doesn't really like Hunter!).

Heartbeat

I know it's been a while since the last posting (Steph reminded me of this)! Not too much new news to share. Within the last couple weeks, Amy has had some great days of not getting sick...Whoohooo! and some not too good days...Booooo! She finds that when she takes the Pre-Natal vitamins, she doesn't feel as good. Are those things really necessary? What did they do before Pre-Natal vitamins? I guess if she doesn't take them I need to make sure she is getting enough calories and a good balance of food. As of Monday (4/13/09) we are 16 weeks along and only a couple more weeks until we find out the sex of the baby!

Amy is starting to get a little baby bump, but it is only visable when she is wearing tighter fitting shirts and she has started to wear maternity pants because a lot of her jeans were getting too tight for comfort. We listened to the heart beat on Easter using the little ultrasound device and it also calculates how many beats per minute the heart is going at. It was at about 150 beats per minute...some say that based on that number we would be having a boy. We'll find out soon! We have our next appointment this friday, 4/17/09

I haven't started talking too much to the baby yet, but I think I should so s/he will know my voice when they are born. We were able to hear the baby's heartbeat for about 2 seconds before he/she moved (yep...we've got a mover and a shaker on our hands!). Right now Amy's uterus still behind her pelvic bone so she isn't really showing, but the doctor said that in the next couple weeks, it should be moved up to about half way to her belly button and she'll start showing. Our next appointment is April 17th.

The baby went on it's first long car ride last weekend as we went to Spokane to visit Amy's aunt, uncle, and cousins! While we were there, Amy's cousin Kristen let us borrow an ultrasound machine she had that will let us hear the baby's heartbeat...we haven't used it yet, but look forward to using it frequently!

We have kinda-sorta picked out some names that we like. We have had these names picked out for quite some time and I don't think we are completely set on them, but would like to share them with you all. If it is a boy, we have thought about HUNTER THOMAS and if it is a girl BROOKLYN MARIE. We'll probably be talking about it more after we find out whether we are having a boy or a girl.

Update 3/12/09

I know it has been a while since we last posted, so here is a little update. Tomorrow (3/13/09)we have our next OB GYN appointment (I am sure we'll have more info to share after that). Amy still hasn't been feeling her best but it's only about 1 or 2 days a week that she doesn't feel well all day. It is definitely true morning sickness though. She also is in that stage were she is feeling her body changing, although no bad mood swings. She feels fat at times even though she is barely showing and still very petite. Just wait babe!

Amy has had several dreams lately of us having a boy (is God trying to tell us something?). Anybody want to take wagers on what the sex is? We will be excited either way as having a baby and being able to be parents is a blessing in itself and a true gift from God. We are so excited for that time, but for now it is a time of perseverence!

2/19/09 Update

Amy is feeling a lot better now!! Thank you for your prayers and suggestions! God is good! On Sunday, Amy was actually able to eat real foods (that is other than saltines, soup, and toast). She has definitely started to find out that when she starts feeling a little nauseated it is time to eat something...I am glad her body is telling her this!

As far as the baby goes, we had our first appointment with the OB GYN last Friday and he said that the blood tests and ultrasound look great. As of today, we are 8 weeks and 3 days along...They also gave us a different due date than the due date we first heard of Sept 21st. The due date is October 1st!! Grandpa Sanguinet's birthday is September 30th, so I am sure he is praying for a Grandbaby Birthday Present!!

Ultrasound

Amy's ultrasound went well yesterday afternoon (and thank you Amanda for going with her!). Amy fought the flu last week and continues to fight through the on and offs of not feeling well. These little struggles will only bring a world of JOY later. Due to the flu and feelings of sickness, Amy is tired of eating saltines, soup, waffles, and toast (all foods she enjoys...just not when thats all you can eat and take down). Having gone through a whole list of foods that she should be eating, not too much sounds appealing. She has continued to take down fluids, making sure that she doesn't become dehydrated.

Today, 2/11/09, Amy has her first Ultrasound to check to see how the little one is doing and she had bloodwork done on Monday. With Amy having a couple days with a high temperature last week, the doctors wanted to make sure that development was going well. We have been praying for God's will through this time!

We'll keep you posted!

Let us know if you have any suggestions on what may help Amy to feel better by commenting to this Blog. We have tried what is called "Pregie Pops" but she said they are just too sweet!
